My Boss was in to observe...

that was a little unnerving... After 2 years on the road with no 'witnesses' i was a little nervous (okay really sick to my stomach) not sure how this would go... I have seen others train - and my style is unique - it has been effective, but not to sure how the boss will perceive things.

Good news! After a couple of days sitting in my classes - she was impressed with how well my classes responded to me... her positive words took a load of my mind... I did think i have been doing a good job, but to have it reaffirmed... feels pretty darn good.

As this was her first trip to Asia Pacific and Indonesia... she wanted to go shopping, and one of the young men attending my class offered to take us to a mall that he knew specialized in gold jewellery (her request) Jewellery shopping was an interesting experience... these indonesian women a little 'scrawny' things (maybe a bit jealous :-)) but we had a hard time finding rings and bracelets that would fit. In the US i like my bracelets 7"-8" here they were most 5"-6"... but she was persistant... purchasing earings, 2 rings, and a bracelet all to the tune of about $450 US...

I did not buy jewellery - however not sure if you have seen this before, but i have... often in jewellery store displays they have a cutglass diamond bigger than my fist... always have liked these and believe it or not have tried to purchase in the past - with no luck... However the vendor who sold Monique the jewellery attended school in Toronto - York University... so that was a nice ice breaker... ROFL get it ice breaker (I know corny) anyway he agreed to sell me one of these crystal diamonds...

After our shopping expidetion we decided to go for US food... Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta... just as wild and loud as in North America... our tour guide accompanied us for dinner... It was his first time in the Hard Rock... and it was obvious he had never ordered a steak before and was quite excited about the whole prospect... he did enjoy the potato skins - not the sour cream rather electing to smother his in catchup... LOL

it was a nice evening... the company and conversation and I ended the meal with a C&B (Coffee and Baileys - with whipped cream of course)...
